Oshodi-Isolo LG Chairman, Kendoo, Completes Akinniku, Orona Link, Onikewula Streets on Record Time

It is less than two months into office as chairman, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government has completed three streets. Oloyede said these streets, Akiniku and Corona Street Link with interlock construction and Onikewunla Street tared with asphalt were completed in record time in fulfilment of his electoral promises that 20 roads will be completed within 100 days of his assumption of office. Other numerous road projects that are ongoing in Dosunmu, Adewunmi Ogefon, Iretioluwa, and Suwebatu streets that the executive chairman embarked upon are near completion.  An on the site visit conducted by the press crew of the office of the chairman revealed that Onikewula Street has been opened for use, while Akiniku street and Orona link are also completed and will be opened for the public use soonest. Credible data key to fight against drug abuse —Marwa

Chairman/ Chief Executive of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd) has said that the use of credible data is essential in the fight against drug abuse even as he warned that the number of people using illicit drugs in Africa might rise by 40 percent in year 2030. Marwa stated this on Tuesday 14th September, 2021 while launching the West African Epidemiology Network on Drug Use (WENDU) Report of Statistics and Trends on illicit drug use and supply 2018-2019. EFCC Re-arraigns Woman for N12.7m Fraud in Maiduguri

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday, re-arraigned one Dookenger Takon before Justice Umaru Fadawu’s Borno State High Court, Maiduguri on a four -count amended charge bordering on cheating, forgery, issuance of dud cheque and obtaining by false pretence the sum of N12.8 million. A statement by EFCC on Friday said Dookenger was re-arraigned alongside her company, X-traordinaire Designs Ltd. She was first arraigned on 28th October, 2020 on a four-count charge, which she pleaded ‘not guilty’. At the resumed hearing today, prosecution counsel, Mukhtar Ahmed informed the court of the amended charge and asked that the defendant be invited to take her plea. Justice Fadawu granted the prayer of the prosecution, and she pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
