LAGOS TO GIVE NDUBUISI KANU BEFITTING BURIAL.

Lagos State Government will participate fully in all the programmes leading to the final burial of the former Military Governor of the State, Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu (rtd).  According to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the State has set up a four-man committee led by the Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, to work with the deceased family and other stakeholders to immortalise and give late Ndubuisi Kanu a befitting passage of exit. The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has described the Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty Lamidi Adeyemi Iku Babayeye 111 as a foremost monarch who has conducted himself with grace, dignity and panache since his ascendancy of the throne of his forefathers 50 years ago.  The former Governor of Osun State stated this in a letter he personally addressed to the monarch to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of his coronation. POLICE ARREST 13 TRAFFIC ROBBERS IN LAGOS

As police intensify efforts towards a crime free Lagos, in response to the Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu’s directive, the operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) yesterday arrested 13 suspected traffic robbers lurking around Motorways, Old Toll Gate and Olusosun Dump site, Ojota.   The suspects, who were picked up yesterday evening through an undercover operation led by the Commander, Rapid Response Squad (RRS) CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, resulted into the arrest of the 13 suspects.   The suspects are: Akeredola Taiwo (33), Oriyomi Solola (28), Olanrewaju Sikiru (25), Hakeem Ridwan (22), Joseph Ovie (33), Muhammadu Aminu (32), Monday Nweke (35), Emmanuel Anthony (24), Onyeka Muoghara (40), Salaudeen Rilwan (32), Kayode Dele (31), Silas Manner (27) and Favour Elijah (26).   Some of the suspects, who were caught red – handed while taking drugs in their hideouts around the corridor couldn’t explain what they were doing in those spots as at the time of arrest.   Eyewitnesses around

Zulum donates N10 million for undergraduate’s kidney transplant

Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum has approved the release of N10 million for the kidney transplant of a 300 level student of geography at the University of Maiduguri, The life of the student, Mbahi Suleiman, 29-year old may be lost if a surgery is not effected as he is in critical need of kidney transplant.  Suleiman hails from Yara in Hawul local government area, in Borno South. The governor got to know of the student’s condition after one of his aides drew his attention to Suleiman’s condition. He and his mother had appeared on a radio programme, seeking for support.
