  A chairmanship aspirant under the platform of the ruling  All Progressives Congress (APC ) in Oshodi /Isolo local government,Hon Saheed Kolawole Animashaun  has disclosed that he pulled out of the race to serve his party in full capacity..  He disclosed the decision to withdraw was taken after the party leadership met with him and requested him to take full charge of the chairmanship affairs of the party in an acting capacity.  According to the veteran politician," my decision to withdraw from the race was due to high level of consideration for the greatness and development of our great party,after the leadership of the party met with me and requested me to take full charge of the party at the local government level. AGAIN, POLICE ARREST 48 SUSPECTS OVER MILE 12 CRISIS, ADOPT 24 HOUR SURVEILLANCE

In furtherance of the command's commitment to maintain law and order in Gengere Community, Mile 12, Lagos State, the Command has again arrested forty eight (48) suspects in connection with the crisis that broke out between some hoodlums at about 1am today, Thursday 6th May, 2021.  In the course of investigation, It has been discovered that one Aliyu Shuaibu, m, stabbed one Sadiq Oloyo, m, both of Gengere Community, and lost his life before any medical attention could be given to him. As a result of the incident, some hoodlums, on reprisal attack, went on rampage and caused commotion in the area.  On the strength of this development, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, directed that additional men be deployed to the area to restore normalcy while forty eight (48) of them were arrest. LASIEC UNVEILS NEW WEBSITE AHEAD OF COUNCIL POLLS

The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), has unveiled a new user-friendly website as part of its preparedness for the forthcoming Local Council elections slated for 24th of July, 2021. In her remarks during the unveiling, the Chairman of the Commission, Hon. Justice Ayotunde Phillips (Rtd), stated that the new website is faster, more secure, easier to navigate, and user-friendly as part of efforts to boost communication between the Commission and various stakeholders in the public, particularly at this crucial period. She enjoined members of the public to visit the website: www.lasiec.gov.ng and other social media handles of the Commission on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram for up-to-date, real-time and accurate information, inquiries, complaints and feedback via the channels.  She also stated that for transparency, recruitment of ad-hoc personnel will be carried out online, media accreditation and election observer forms will also be available to download from the web

  As part of efforts to improve  security agencies'  response to various threats to public peace and safety across the country, the Federal Government has flagged-off  an inter-agencies training on Nigeria Internal Security and Public Safety Alert System (NISPSAS). The National  Chairman of the South West Agenda for 2023, (SWAGA), Senator Dayo Adeyeye,  has called on the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC),  to caution the Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi and place him under close watch over suspected anti-party activities SWAGA is a political pressure group within the APC, rooting for Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu as the presidential choice, come 2023. Reacting in a statement issued by his Media Manager, Mr Gboyega Adeoye, Senator Adeyeye, expressed worry over recent pronouncements and actions of the Ekiti State governor, which he said smirks of quick, deliberate, steps aimed at rescuing victory from the mouth of APC’s nascent national electoral fortunes. The former Minister for Works and Housing, Adeyeye, was reacting to a lingering orchestrated attempt by a group, ostensibly acting a script, to suspend the Caretaker Chairman of Ado Ekiti Ward 8 of the APC, Clement Afolabi, on trumped up allegation of fraternising with SWAGA.
