Badmus-Aregbe Urges students to be focus on their studies

The Vice-Chairman, Oshodi-Isolo local government, Mrs Modupe Badmus-Aregbe has advised students to be focused on their studies. Mrs Badmus Aregbe gave this advice when she was speaking at the Spelling Bee Competition held at the council secretariat on Thursday. The council vice-chairman who represented the wife of the chairman, Mrs Folakemi Oloyede asked the students to also take advantage of vocational skills as they go in life to help them become self-dependent.    Mrs Badmus-Aregbe who also attended the debate competition of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Lagos West Senatorial District held at the council secretariat urged the students to be watchful of companies they keep.    She said; "Focus on your education, it pays. Be ruthless with drug barons, cartels, Marwa charges NDLEA strike force corps

Chairman/Chief Executive of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd) has charged officers and men of the Agencys Strike Force Corps to go all out and root out drug barons and cartels from their hideouts across the country. Marwa gave the charge at the special operations training graduation ceremony for 143 officers of the Strike Force Corps at the Nigerian Army School of Infantry, NASI, Jaji, Kaduna state on Monday. According to the NDLEA boss, "the drug scourge in Nigeria is unacceptable with almost 15 million Nigerians abusing substances, 20 percent of who are addicted, which is three times the global average. We're conscious of our job to block and prevent availability of narcotic drugs, and that necessitated the formation of the Strike Force to enhance our capability for complex operations. LAWMA Flags Off Amuwo-Odofin Clean-up 2021

 _- VOB presents LAWMA MD with an appreciation plaque for pragmatic innovations to waste management_  Mr. Ibrahim Odumboni led his team of waste managers to a stakeholders meeting in Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Secretariat to initiate the Clean-up exercise.  In his speech he said, "Waste Management is a collective responsibility, that all stakeholders must get involved". He also chided the operators of PSP to be innovative in their style of service delivery.  The Council Chairman who returned from another engagement to join the stakeholders forum, appealed to residents to do the needful for a clean environment.  Mr. Taiwo, the guest facilitator in his presentation revealed that waste can be converted to wealth via sorting of waste.  A collective resolution derived from the stakeholders meeting was to totally eradicate the activities of cart pushers across the local government as LAWMA promised to cleanup all illegal dumpsite across the local government in 2 weeks.

Three Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested In Mowe.

Men of Ogun State police command have arrested three members of a robbery syndicate terrorizing Mowe and its environs. The suspects identified as Daniel Okereke, Henry Osagwe and Wisdom Atuba were arrested following a piece of information received by the policemen attached to Mowe divisional headquarters at about 10 pm, that a group of men numbering about seven who were suspected to be armed robbers were sighted in a hideout at Ajeonibode area of Mowe, where they were perfecting plans on when and how to attack their targeted victims. Upon the information, the DPO Mowe division, CSP Saminu Akintunde, quickly mobilized his men and stormed the scene. On sighting the policemen, the hoodlums took to flight, but with the assistance of members of the community, three amongst them were apprehended while others escaped. Drug dealer, manager, 3 workers bag 75 years imprisonment

.. .NDLEA appeals against N700,000 option of fine for convicts, others   A major drug dealer, Mike Omoarukhe, his manager and three other workers in his cannabis farms have been sentenced to 75 years imprisonment by a Federal High Court in Benin, the Edo state capital. The convicts were charged in July by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, (NDLEA) in a five count charge number FHC/B/107c/2021 bordering on possession of 183.5 kilogrammes of cannabis sativa, conspiracy to possess, cultivate and cultivation of 22 hectares of cannabis farms. Delivering his judgement in the case on Thursday 14th October, Justice A.C. Obiozor sitting in Court 2 of the Federal High Court, Benin Judicial Division, sentenced the defendants to 15 years on each of the five counts, bringing the total years of imprisonment to 75 years, which will run concurrently.   The Federal Government has declared Tuesday  October 19th, 2021  as Public Holiday to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Mawlid Celebration in commemoration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him). Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, who made this declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, congratulates all Muslim faithful both at home and in the Diaspora for witnessing this year’s occasion. He admonishes all Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of love, patience and perseverance which are the virtues of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), adding that doing so would guarantee peace and security in the country. Ogbeni Aregbesola enjoined Nigerians, particularly Muslims, to refrain from violence, lawlessness and other acts of criminality. As the indisputable leader of our race, we must show responsible leadership in Africa.
