LETS CONTINUE TO SUPPORT DEMOCRACY,NO MATTER THE FAILINGS

A call has gone to Nigerians to support the deepening of democracy as it remains the best form of governance across the world and good governance can only be achieved through it. 

Giving the advise in Lagos on Thursday ,a Lagos based business man and politician,Otunba Kehinde Oloyede Almaroof  in a press release he signed to commemorate the 2020 democracy day celebration in Lagos.  

The Oshodi Isolo born politician advised that for good governance to be achieved,citizen's participation is critical so as the ensure public office holders are held accountable at all times and also critical applaud a performing one. 

Going memory lane,he eulogised the heroic roles played by the symbol of June 12,the late Basorun MKO Abiola,his wife,Alhaja Kudirat Abiola and other pro democracy activists especially the National leader of the APC,Asiwjau Bola Ahmed Tinubu,stressing that the battles they waged against the military led to "this democracy we are enjoying today".

"June 12,no doubt is a watershed in our democratic development,so we must not forget the heroic roles played by the late Basorun MKO Abiola,his wife Alhaja Kudirat Abiola,PA Alfred Rewane and others, especially pro-democracy activists and not to forget our indefatigable leaders,Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who rallied others to engage the military even at the risk of their lives. Their roles will not be forgotten in the history of democracy in our country", he said. 

The Oshodi Isolo chairmanship hopeful promised to continue to support democracy at all times.  

He also commended president Muhammad Buhari for declaring June 12 as the authentic day of democracy,a day he said " Nigerians rejected military rule for democratic governance.

    Otunba kehinde oloyede almoroof has always been an advocate for self rule and governance so saying this on this day is what every believer of democracy should crave for and support and to any other forms of governance in support to those that sacrifices with their lives.God bless Oshodi Isolo local government,Lagos State and Nigeria.In Kendoo we trust.#HEKENDOOIT#.

The proposed Community Development Association Law, 2020, when passed by the Assembly and eventually signed into law by the governor, would institutionalize the activities of CDAs in Ogun state  with a view to developing a uniformed constitution  for its operation with clearly defined roles for the relevant government agencies in the administration of the associations. Kendoo Emerges Chairman, Oshodi-Isolo Local Government
