OSHODI-ISOLO LOCAL GOVERNMENT SEALS GAS STATION
The Environmental Department of Oshodi-Isolo Local government has sealed off a newly constructed petroleum liquid gas station at 6b Oluyeye street in Mafoluku.
This was as a result of the non- compliance with the Environmental /Public health dictates by the Gas station.
The Gas station was sealed off as the supervisor of the station was unable provide some vital documents in regards to the approval of the premises and but promised to visit the Local Government with all the documents in the custody of the owner of the station which brought all activities as regards the premise on halt.
The HOD of the Environmental Services of the Local Government Sanitarian, Akeem Adeoye said the action was taken in the interest of public health and safety.
He used the medium to warn liquid petroleum gas retailers to comply with regulations and safety precautions which includes having approved fire extinguisher, spacious environment to avoid combustion, etc in order to save the community from fire incident .
He said the Local Government Environmental Services would soon be out to prosecute those who have turned the environment to illegal markets,automobile workshops, and parks.
He appealed to people to stop converting residential buildings in the community into commercial outlets I.e Gas stations as most of it negates the safety and well-being of the people.
He enjoined everyone to maintain a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment especially as we move into the rainy season and people should not hesitate to report anyone or group of people who violates the environmental regulations to the local government authority.
He concluded that Hon. Idris Bolaji Muse Ariyoh administration places high premium on the security and health of the residents.
Hon.Yussuf Adesanya Special adviser environment and Hon.Rasheed Obasa leader Oshodi-Isolo Legislature were part of those that inspected the gas station on behalf of the local government.

A job well done. A warning to all law breakers . A healthy and happy environment is what the citizens of Oshodi need.
