COSEG CONDEMNS LEKKI, MUSHIN KILLINGS

Yoruba socio cultural group,the Coalition of Oodua Self determination Group(COSEG) has condemned in strong terms the killing of innocent protesters and security details in Lagos State,calling on the state government to ensure justice is done in this circumstance. The group In a  press  release in Ikeja on Wednesday  signed by comrades  Dayo Ogunlana and Dele Daramola ,the chairman and Publicity Secretary of its coordinating counuil respectively condemned in strong terms the massacre in Lekki by the Soldiers and Mushin by the policemen. According to COSEG" we are not unaware of the massacre made by Nigerian Military and police men in both Lekki and Mushin of Lagos State on a black Tuesday. •As Sanwo-Olu Sues For Calm The Lagos State Government has ordered an investigation into reports of live ammunition fired at peaceful protesters at the Lekki Toll Plaza this evening, even as the State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has urged residents to remain calm. The State's Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Gbenga Omotoso, in a statement, said the shooting would be investigated immediately. "There have been reports of shooting at the Lekki Toll Plaza, following the 24-hour curfew imposed on Lagos State to stop criminals who hid under the #EndSARS protests to unleash mayhem on innocent citizens.  "The State Government has ordered an investigation into the incident. The Lead Visioner of TEAM JANDOR, Mr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, has condemned the breakdown of law and order as a result of the hijack of the EndSARS protests by suspected hoodlums in different areas across Lagos state. Jandor, as he is popularly called, while addressing a youth group who came on a visit to his home town in Ishagira area of Ojo Federal Constituency, said “it is sad that the peaceful protests by the youth have evidently been hijacked by hoodlums across different locations of the state.” He, however, called on the security agencies to ensure that all perpetrators of violence in state are brought to book. The Lagos state Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday declared a 24-hour curfew after various reported cases of violence across the state.

NMA seeks full implementation of Medical Residency TraininAct in Borno

The Nigerian Medical Association has called for domestication and full implementation of Medical Residency Training Act in Borno State. This, according to the Chairman of NMA in the state would address the numerous challenges in the state’s health sector. Speaking during the Annual Physicians’ Week on Tuesday in Maiduguri, the Borno State Chairman of NMA, Ali Mohammad-Ramat said the call became imperative in order to address the challenges bedevilling the health sector especially in getting skilled human resources. He said that the Physicians’ Week is  an annual weeklong events of the Nigerian Medical Association(NMA) to celebrate medical personnels contribution to effective healthcare services delivery and research in Nigeria. Mohammad-Ramat  explained that it also  provide an opportunity for medical personnels to review events of the health sector during the past twelve months and identify areas of possible improvement. LAWMA condemns attack on its personnel

The attention of the Authority has been drawn to an unfortunate and avoidable incident in which some of our PSP trucks, were attacked and damaged by protesters in the cause of discharging their duty of waste evacuation across the city. This is in spite of visible difficulties associated with the ongoing protests, our ever dedicated sweepers and PSP operators defy all odds to carry out their legitimate duties.  It is therefore unfortunate that those who offer essential services such as continuous collection of waste generated across the city are attacked for carrying this legitimate services. It is in that vein that we condemn in its strongest terms, that it is totally unacceptable to attack law abiding citizens who are only carrying out services that are beneficial to all. The continuous collection of garbage is an essential part of ensuring a clean, healthy and conducive environment which is one of the important pillar of the THEMES agenda of Mr. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Therefore
