CINEMA OPERATORS APPEAL TO GOVERNMENT TO ALLOW THEN OPERATE

Cinema operators in the country on Thursday in Lagos appealed to the federal government through the Lagos State government to allow them open for business as they are already running into debt over the closure of their business premisses occasioned by the outbreak of the covid 19 pandemic.

One of the operators,Mr Moses in his own submission posited that denying them opening of their business is at a huge loss as most of the businesses have opened and plying their trades unhindered.

He maintained that asking them to open windows while cinemas are working will not guarantee sales and will equally impact negatively be on their income.

According to him"we are the most affected as we are still yet not opened based on the federal government"s directive that we should open our windows down, this will definitely negate  the culture associated  with movies.

Moreover,he mentioned that despite being off business for almost five months now, they have also been forced to invest in safety gadgets in compliance with the recommendation of the NCDC.

"It's on this note that we want to appeal to the federal government to consider reopening of cinema houses to encourage investors and we promised to comply with safety measures as announced",he concluded

Other stakeholders at the venue of the meeting also joined in the call for the reopening of cinema houses.

Their association , cinema exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN ) by the president called  on all  notable Nigerians to join them in the reopening of their business and that performing their responsibility has become a huge task.
