NIGERIA @60- REDEDICATE YOURSELVES TO NATION BUILDING, GROUP URGES LEADERS
A call has gone to president Muhammadu Buhari , all the governors and other political leaders to rededicate themselves to the building of a strong and more United country, so that the prosperity of the nation will manifest.
This call was made on Wednesday in Lagos by the Centre Against Injustice and Domestic Violence (CAIDOV) in a press release issued by the group signed by its Executive Director,Comrade Gbenga Soloki on the sixty years anniversary of the nation's Independence, where the group commended the founding fathers of the nation for the sacrifices rendered and the determination to see an independent Nigeria.
CAIDOV stated that leaders who fought for independence were selfless, courageous and highly cerebral who were genuine in all their actions, and that their commitment to a common goal made the attainment of independence possible sixty years ago.
According to the group" as we mark the sixty years of flagged independence, it's pertinent to note that our fathers fought for this independence with all the determination and believe in a United and prosperous Nigeria. They were selfless, courageous, independent minded and very cerebral, which led to the nationhood granted the country sixty years ago.
The group stated that as we mark sixty years of independence from British colonialism, we want to use this occasion to appeal to our rulers to rededicate themselves to nation building.
"The celebration of sixty years of independence is another opportunity to reflect on what has happened in the past , what is happening now and then what to expect in future. We want to appeal to Me President, his vice, our governors and other elected and appointed leaders to use the opportunity of the celebration to rededicate themselves to nation building where the good of the downtrodden will be paramount in their mind and the progress of the country will have a place in their hearts.
Finally, the group however, rejoices with Nigerians on the sixty years of independence and that all hands must be on deck to see a more prosperous Nigeria where oneness will be the focus instead of the divisive politics being exhibited.
