STOP THE CARNAGE, EMBRACE PEACE, CAIDOV

Aggrieved Nigerians who are burning and destroying private and public properties have been advised to desist from the carnage and ensure the peace option provided by the government is embraced so that progress and tranquility will return to the country.

This advise was given on Friday in Lagos by the centre Against  Injustice and domestic Violence (CAIDOV) in a press release signed by its Executive Director, comrade Gbenga Soloki, stressing that the infiltration of the protest remain a sad occurrence, but the message has been passed.

The group posited further that the youth, angered by the underdevelopment in their country , decided to show their displeasure and actually received government attention before the hijack by hoodlums and miscreants.

According to the CAIDOV Boss"let us all salute the resilience and commitment of the Nigerian youth, who mobilised and protested against the bad policies of government especially the atrocities of the men and officers of the now disbanded SARS. They showed their anger and were peaceful until the infiltration by hoodlums who turned the protest into another thing.  The carnage wrecked on public and private properties was much and such is condemnable.  "

Continuing" with the carnage, so many government properties destroyed, there is need for peace to return. Thus we appeal to our teeming youth to return to the path of peace, they should engage the government positively so that their demands will be met and the struggle of theirs won't be in vain.

Finally, the group commended the governor of Lagos State for his patriotic zeal in handling the demands of the youth and his commitment to good governance.

"The federal government should endeavour should listen to the youth and expedite actions on the police reforms and other demands of the genuine protesters".  ,CAIDOV concluded
