OSHODI ISOLO COUNCIL HOLDS SPELLING BEE COMPETITION FOR PRIMARY CATEGORY




Miss Celestina of Mafoluku Primary School Emerge as the Winner.


As part of the commitment of Hon. Idris Bolaji Muse Ariyoh's led administration to  support the growth and development of public education at the grassroots with the building of intellectuals, the council authority on Monday held Spelling Bee competition for the primary category.


The council chairman, Hon. Idris Bolaji Muse Ariyoh ably represented by Hon. Ganiu Mejindade, the super for Education, in his opening address, emphasized the importance of education as the mirror of the society which must be given the utmost support and attention needed.


He implored the pupils to remain focus in the journey of life with priority given to their studies which remains the antidote to poverty and ignorance.


According to him, " the value of education in the life of a man and the society at large cannot be overemphasized and in ensuring that our pupils are in tune with the challenges and competition in academic excellence is the essence for the Spelling Bee which is an annual event carried out by this administration.


"It is no doubt the effect of the COVID-19 has slow down the pace of education which again has opened the eyes of the government and the critical stakeholders to the germane issues in the sector with the need to upgrade our system to meet the 21st-century standard.


" The council Authority under the leadership of Hon. Idris Bolaji Muse Ariyoh is still much-committed to the vision of making an effective and functional educational system a reality with huge resources committed to the sector at the grassroots", he said.


He further implored  the teachers to intensify efforts in equipping the students with the necessary knowledge needed to be able to compete favorably with their counterparts and be a better person.


In a keenly contested battle of the titans among the pupils and schools,  Miss Ajifowoke  Celestina of  Mafoluku Nursery and Primary school emerged the first runner-up while her counterparts from Afolabi Nursery and Primary School, Master Dada Israel emerged Second while Queen Ahmed from Ewu-tuntun Primary school came third.


The contest began with 60 participants till the last stage which produced the best three.


The winner is bid to represent the Local Government at the State level for the Spelling Bee of the primary category.


The council chairman while receiving the first runner-up in his office appreciated and commended her for the intellectual sagacity put in a display to emerged as the winner.


While he advised her to remain focused as the sky is not her end but the start point to excel in life.


He used the medium to reiterate his undiluted passion and commitment to support primary education till the best is achieved.
