SCHEMING TO RETAIN PRESIDENCY IN THE NORTH BY 2023 IS DANGEROUS- COSEG WARNS

Plans by some leaders,elders and politicians in the north to jettison the zoning arrangements in the country as a build up to the 2023 presidential election  has been described as dangerous and capable of triggering nationwide crisis ,thus they are advised  not to jettison the idea of zoning in the ruling All progressives Congress(APC),stressing that such a position will definitely rock the boat and create tension across the country.  

This warning was handed down by the 

Coalition of Oodua Self Determination Groups (COSEG)at the end of their weekly meeting in Lagos in a press released  signed by Comrades Dayo Ogunlana and Dele Daramola the chairman and publicity Secretary of the Cordinating Committe warned that presidency must shift to the southwest by 2023 or the key players in the North scheming to retain power in the Northern and their political party  looses the 2023 election.

According to the group " we are not unaware of the various schemes going on to deny the south the 2023 presidency as a result of the inevitability of zoning. We must sound it clear that southwest will not vote for any party that refuses to ensure zoning of the presidency to it's zone. The rotation of presidency between the north and the south was made and accepted to create and instill confidence in Nigeria but if the North that prides itself as the owner of Nigeria tries to perpetuate presidency in the North, and arrogantly scheming to make this happen will be surprised not by the level of resistance but by the consequences of thier actions. We shall not tolerate unfairness and dishonourable act".

COSEG also called on the leadership of all political parties in Nigeria to be weary of greedy and selfish political  leaders among them who will do anything to destroy the peace and the little unity  we crave to have ,because of their interests. 

The group said" Whoever that wants to sacrifice fairness and justice indirectly plans to promote disunity, suspicion and violence.The slogan of one Nigeria is best promoted if the political players adhere strictly to the agreed zoning of presidency which has been there for a long time,president Buhari gains from this and must not support any of his associates scheming to destroy the zoning agreement. So many people including our group that worked for his election will be highly dissapointed if he does not stop the endless and wicked scheming of his allies and associates who has been arrogantly scheming to ensure a Norther president by 2023. 

This is a dangerous trend that will be vehemently resisted by the Yoruba people".

The group however stated that despite their continous silence on the divide and rule being promoted in the south by these people, they should not take their silence as cowards or dull people" we have kept quiet so long and refuse to comment on  the divide and rule being presently played in the south west by these wicked people but they should not think we are dullards or cowards who look away from the political bizarre ongoing .

"We intentionally look away because we know what our people will do when we are about to cross the river. We wil allow the power mongers continue  thier game untill the day of reckoning"COSEG said

Furthermore,the group warned the Yoruba politicians who are known as political jobbers and are always ready to destroy the race interest because of their selfish interest . COSEG said, "we therefore vehemently warn all Yoruba political jobbers who cannot only kill yoruba race interests but can also kill their parents because of pot of porridge to be ready for a serious fight and backlash as betrayer of our interest on the 2023 presidency will not be tolerated". They should be impressing it on their benefactors that yorubas are wise and that  divide and rule system is an outdated scheme that will not do them good".

The group concluded that their support for president Buhari remain unshaken as far as he does not play an orchid game covertly against  the southwest people as bieng played now by his associates.He should remember we rose up to be counted for him when he needed us and will not want to regret our support for him at that cruciat time. We urge him to urgently direct his associates who are bent on playing anti southwest game to stop forthwith. He must promote a legacy of fairness and ensure unity of the country is not sacrificed for anything. This is the reason for zoning between the North and South and must be implemented fully".
