Gives Priority to Infrastructure, Health, Security and Environment in the year 2021 Budget
The Executive Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government has charged the Supervisory councilors and Hods on human-oriented programs that will have a direct impact on the lives of the people and the community at large.
The charge was given at the ongoing Budget Retreat for the fiscal year of 2021.
The council helmsman during the brainstorming, analysis, and projection for the coming year said the grassroots government will continue to focus on policies cum programs that will aid the human capacity development of the people and the community at large.
He emphasized the continued premium placed on critical sectors of governance such as infrastructural development, health, environment, security, and education which will continue to receive the utmost attention of the government.
While the Acting Hod of Budget and Planning, Mrs. Olubunmi Lambo in her projection for the year asserted that there is a need for the council to look inward to diversify and tap into her IGR as the year won't be business as usual due to the effect of the pandemic that resulted into economic recession and the aftermath of the Endsars protests in Lagos.
She, however, advised that prudence and scale of preference of programs should be seriously looked into in the coming year for sustainable growth to be achieved.
In the same direction, the Supervisory councilors and Head of Departments have been admonished to continue to exhibit synergy and collaborative efforts through which the year 2021 fiscal policy can have a meaningful impact for the set goals to be realized.
All the Supervisory councilors and the HODs have been asked to stream their programs to achievable ones due to the financial constraint that is an inevitable occasion by the fall in the price of crude oil and exchange rate leading to inflation within the economy.
The business of the day came to an end after critical analyse and examination of the existing economic reality in the country.
