YOREM SUPPORTS AKEREDOLU ON 7 DAYS ULTIMATUM TO ILLEGAL HERDERS IN THE FORESTS OF ONDO TO LEAVE
•••Vows to drive herdsmen away from Oodua land"
Yoruba self determination group, Yoruba Revolutionary movement(YOREM) has thrown it's weights behind the ultimatum issued by the Ondo state Governor , Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu to the effect that all illegal herders in the forest of the state should vacate In seven days, though the federal government has rejected the order stressing that all Nigerians are free to reside anywhere in the country.
YOREM in a press release signed by Comrades Adekola Telu and Ajayi Agboroganda, publicity secretary and secretary of organisation respectfully, disclosed that the ultimatum issued by the government is in order and that the organization is in solidarity with the government and people of the state as they are out to assert their authority and protect themselves from unwarranted attacks.
According to the group "We of the Yoruba Revolutionary Movement(YOREM) condemned in entirety the counter directive by President Muhammadu Buhari and his misinterpretation of the Nigerian constitution on the order of the Ondo state Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu that killer Fulani herdsmen that invaded the state forest reserve should vacate within 7days.
We have watched with trepidation the fascistic rule of the Buhari led APC led federal government. The regime nepotism is unparalleled in Nigeria history, with the nauseating defence of Fulani herdsmen at any given time while same government lost his voice on collective issues of national importance. We can no longer keep quiet nor condone the Yoruba nation being ruled like a conquered people."
Continuing"We of YOREM fully supports Governor Akeredolu's order for the herdsmen to leave the forest on or before the expiration of the 7days ultimatum. We have resolved that even if Governor Akeredolu succumbed to the Federal government misinterpreted constitutional blackmail, threat and Intimidation, we shall mobilise and Organise our people with other Oodua liberation fighters and groups to drive away Fulani herdsmen from all our invaded communities."
Furthermore, the group however warned that no evil must befall chief Sunday Adeywmo popularly called Igboho for leading the onslaught against the herdsmen in oke Ogun area of the state.
"We hasten to add that if anything untowardly happens to Ogbeni Sunday Ìgbòho Adeyemo the Buhari led APC government would be held responsible. And to some fifth columnist justifying the Buhari misrule, the day of reckoning shall be sooner than expected."
Finally ,the group equally call on the international community particularly the UN, that YOREM believes and states unequivocally that a National Referendum for a peaceful dissolution of Nigeria's marriage of inconvenience is now.
