OSHODI-ISOLO LOCAL GOVERNMENT LAUNCHES SYNTHETIC FIELD WITH NOVELTY MATCH


Oshodi-Isolo local government launched the recently completed synthetic five aside pitch with a novelty match between IBMA TEAM vs CM TEAM ( LATIFAT BALOGUN BABES) on 11th March 2021.


The IBMA team dressed in all green jersey was led by the council chairman Hon. Idris Bolaji Muse Ariyoh while the council-manager team ( Latifat Balogun  Babes) was led by the chief of staff Hon.Dawood Olajobi.


The 40 minutes game of 20 minutes of each half was full of fun and thrilling moments, Latifat Balogun babes draw the first blood with a  goal in the 7 minutes while the IBMA team responded with three quick goals in 10, 13 and 15 minutes with Hon. Bolaji Muse Ariyoh capitalized on a defensive blunder by Latifat Babes to score the third goal.


The second half of the match saw the CM team playing in all yellow jersey with a determined mind, scored three goals within 15 minutes (4th, 10th, and 15th ) into the second half  to take the scores to 4-3 with the IBMA team trailing with a goal.


In the dying minute of the game, when some of the players look tired and fagged out, the IBMA team got the deserved equalizer through the team striker Hon. Ariyoh and sent the team supporters into a freezy joyful moment.


The game went into a penalty shoot-out after a stalemate of 4-4 draws during the full time.


IBMA team carried the day with 7-6 as they were able to score all their three penalties while Latifat Balogun babes scored two penalties and lost one.


Speaking to media team after the match the special adviser on agric, youths & youth Hon. Saheed Animashaun appreciated the vision of the council chairman to have made this happened as the only local government in Lagos state with a synthetic field, promised that the field would be judiciously used for the right purpose as he said the community should look forward to a five aside tournament coming soon.


The Human resources Officer of Oshodi-Isolo local government Mr. Badmus Lateef Kayode thanked the local government chairman for his exemplary leadership qualities by physically participating in the novelty match.


He said everyone should be engaged in any form of sporting activities to keep them healthy and maintain their mental alertness.


He said the pitch would soon be protected with the construction of a perimeter barbwire fence to ward off unauthorized people from encroaching into the pitch and the local government would oversee its maintenance.


The match was watched by exco members, legislators, civil servants, and people from the community.
