Chairmanship Aspirant In The Last Local Government Election, Celebrates Birthday, Doll Cash Gifts To Fifty People
A chairmanship aspirant in the last local government election from Agbado-Oke Odo LCDA, Otunba Kayode Akintomo dolled out cash and other gifts to the elders and some indigents to celebrate his birthday.
The birthday celebration which was organized to launch Akintomo's Foundation, that would see to the need of the less privileged in the society.
According to Otunba Kayode " Usually, we celebrate birthdays for merry making, parties and all but critically looking, everytime should not be about party. It should be about giving back to the society and the poor. Those in government cannot do it alone, that is why, I am dedicating today for my people."
"My foundation will be given fifty people a token of five thousand naira each. This is a very small amount but I know it will sort some immediate needs. By the time the foundation is well footed, I promise we will do more."
Some of the beneciaries spoke with our correspondent, On her part, Mrs. K.A Audu " Said" This is a good gesture and my prayer is that Almighty God will continue to bless him. This is a rare gesture for someone who just lost an election to the power that be, I'm surprised. To him, the money is a token but to me and some of us, it is a huge amount."
" I was not expecting this, neither do I thought that I will be amongst the beneciaries, this is amazing." said Mr. Saheed Ayinde.
Otunba Kayode also gave out material gifts to some people as he promised monthly assistance to the indigents people of his Local Council and beyond, through his foundation.
