COUNCIL CHAIRMAN VISITS SCENE OF TRAGEDY

...Imploreresidents to report defective building to appropriate agency  Oshodi-Isolo local government Chairman Hon.Idris Bolaji Muse Ariyoh Tuesday  visited the scene of a tragedy which occurred on Monday  afternoon in 19 Oronna street in Igbeyinadun ward of the local government . According to an eye witness who briefed the local government chairman and his entourage on the incident said the perimeter fence of a two story building which house Odeogberin comprehensive college and a church collapsed and killed a two year old boy who was playing  beside fence. Hon.Idris Bolaji Muse Ariyoh sympathised with the family of the deceased boy and implored residents to always be vigilant and report to the appropriate authority if they observe any structural defect to avoid  this type of incident. Meanwhile Lagos state building council agency ( LASBCA ) has sealed the building  with a contravention notice and requested the owner or agent of the building to report to their office while Lagos state

Demolishes More Distressed Buildings on Lagos Island, Others  The Lagos State Government has disclosed that efforts are being intensified to reduce incidents of building collapse as the rainy season approaches, saying that no effort would be spared in getting rid of derelict buildings across the State.  The General Manager of Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), Arc. The Centre for Anti-Corruption and Open Leadership, CACOL, hashailed The Supreme Court ruling upholding the 10-year imprisonment of former Plateau State Governor Joshua Dariye upon his conviction for criminal breach of trust.   In a press release issued by the anti-graft coalition’s Director for Administration and Programmes, TolaOresanwo on behalf of its Chairman, Mr. Debo Adeniran, he noted, “In his appeal, Dariye prayed the Supreme Court to upturn the November 16, 2018 judgment of the Court of Appeal, Abuja, which convicted him and sentenced him to 10 years for diverting public funds estimated at N1.162billion while he was the governor. Human trafficking is modern-day cankerworm- DG, NAPTIP

Director-General, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Mrs. Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim has raised the alarm that human trafficking is modern-day cankerworm with the second largest illegal market churning out about $150 billion dollars annually and threat to national security. Sulaiman-Ibrahim raised the alarm in Abuja during a brainstorming session with Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa. The two Chief Executive Officers  (CEOs) have met to brainstorm on how to curb the modern-day slavery, human trafficking. Oshodi-Isolo local government launched the recently completed synthetic five aside pitch with a novelty match between IBMA TEAM vs CM TEAM ( LATIFAT BALOGUN BABES) on 11th March 2021. The IBMA team dressed in all green jersey was led by the council chairman Hon. Idris Bolaji Muse Ariyoh while the council-manager team ( Latifat Balogun  Babes) was led by the chief of staff Hon.Dawood Olajobi. The 40 minutes game of 20 minutes of each half was full of fun and thrilling moments, Latifat Balogun babes draw the first blood with a  goal in the 7 minutes while the IBMA team responded with three quick goals in 10, 13 and 15 minutes with Hon. Bolaji Muse Ariyoh capitalized on a defensive blunder by Latifat Babes to score the third goal. CACOL HAILS REPATRIATION OF IBORI AND HIS ASSOCIATE’S £4.2m LOOT, CALLS FOR ITS JUDICIOUS USE

The Centre for Anti-Corruption and Open Leadership, CACOL, has hailed the repatriation of £4.2 million loot recovered from friends, associates and family members of former Delta State Governor, James Onanefe Ibori from United Kingdom and enjoined the Federal Government of Nigeria, under President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure judicious use of the funds in areas that could revive the near comatose economy of the country.   In a release issued by the Centre on behalf of its Chairman, Mr. Debo Adeniran and signed by CACOL’s Director of Administration and Programmes, Tola  Oresanwo, he stated, “We received the news that the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ms. Catriona Laing, said the money would be returned to Nigeria in batches.
