Court Strikes Out Fraud Case Against Osun Dep Chief Of Staff

Image
An Abuja High Court sitting in Maitama has struck out a case of fraud allegation against the Osun State Deputy Chief of Staff, Prince Abdullah Adeyanju Binuyo.  On Wednesday, 30 September, 2020, Hon Justice O. O. Goodluck of the High Court 4, Maitama struck out the case at the instance of the Prosecuting Counsel, Rumamsonte Ezekiel, Esq.  Counsels for the defendants: Wahab Ismail, Esq; and Wasiu Omotosho, Esq; were present while Samuel Ogala, Esq, watched brief for the complainant.  At the court on Wednesday, Police prosecutor apologised saying he was misinformed about the case.  Earlier, Wahab Ismail, Esq, counsel to Binuyo, has exonerated his client from the malicious allegation.  In a press statement issued by him, Ismail stated that Binuyo was only a mere witness to the deal and not a party to it.  According to him, the amount involved in the deal was $100,000, not $120, 000 as claimed in the report.  The lawyer stated that the $100,000 has been refunded in full to the party concer

Alleged fraud story on Binuyo mischievous, misleadin- Counsel

Image
Our attention has been drawn to a story in today's The Punch Newspaper titled "Osun deputy chief of staff charged with $120,000 fraud." The story is not only mischievous, but equally misleading. It was done deliberately to cast aspersions on the person of Prince Abdullah Adeyanju Binuyo, who is the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor,  State of Osun,  Adegboyega Oyetola.  While it is true that Binuyo was just a mere witness and not a party to the said failed business, he cannot be liable in the face of the law. At any rate, even the amount involved in the business, which is $100, 000 and not $120, 000, has been refunded in full to the party concerned almost a year ago. It was received by one Tunde Ajala,  which was duly acknowledged by his Counsel as well and witnessed by the Police . Again, nothing in the Police Charge, suggests that Binuyo was liable. We have called the attention of the Police to the information.  However, while we await the Police to clear the air on

FAYEMI'S COALITION FOR ANTI-YORUBA PRESIDENCY - WHO WAN GO JAIL?

Image
Unrepentantly, Oga is going more rough despite the consistent entreaties by Ekiti public not to make Ekiti State the enemy of Yoruba race.  Less than 24 hours ago, the governor of Ekiti State,  Dr Kayode Fayemi  announced the indefinite suspension of some notable party leaders in Ekiti APC. Whatever Fayemi might be hiding under to do that. Their real offence is that they are not ready to part ways with Bola Ahmed Tinubu. And to somebody like Governor Fayemi, that is an unpardonable offence. Fayemi is going this far because he is coveting Vice-presidential position in 2023. Yoruba, having supported Buhari (Hausa-Fulani) ascension into power for 8years, Fayemi is afraid of Tinubu's possibility of contesting for presidency in 2023. Because he knows that Tinubu is the only political _Ogbogbonioran_ (colossus) from the South West who has the capacity to match any selfish political giant from the North whom Fayemi might be willing to deputise. If it is Fayemi himself who is trying to be

My Angel is 60 by Rauf Aregbesola

My sojourn in Kaduna in the 1980s, first for my youth service and later for a paid employment, will remain ever memorable. This is because it was there that I found the love of my life, Iyaafin Sherifat Abidemi Aregbesola.   I was a dashing young man with long hair and ideological fire burning in my soul. I had been caught in the throes of the ideological fervour of the time. I left The Polytechnic Ibadan fired with idealism and was prepared to change the world.  People of my generation actually were fiercely nationalistic. They wanted the best for the country and at the same time were globalist. Our vision was not just for Nigeria; we wanted a world devoid of injustice, inequality, poverty, diseases and other afflictions of humanity. Kaduna too was a hotbed of activism and provided a natural habitat for me. I was therefore too serious to have any social life. All that would soon change.  It started 39 years ago when I daily secretly admired a damsel in front of her residence on Ibrahi
