Manchester City give condition for signing Messi from Barcelona

Image
Manchester City are exploring the possibility of signing Lionel Messi from Barcelona, ESPN reports. However, the former Premier League champions will only make a bid, if they will not breach Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules. City also need Barca to agree to sell their prized assets before making a move. So far, the LaLiga giants have insisted Messi is untransferable and is protected by a €700million (£632million) release clause. But City continue to keep an eye on the situation, after the 32-year-old admitted he could leave. Barcelona endured a miserable season under managers Ernesto Valverde and Quique Setien, which ended in an 8-2 thrashing in the Champions League, as they finished a season trophyless for the first time since 2008. It led to the sacking of Setien, who has been replaced by Ronald Koeman, with the future of many players up in the air. Source : The Nation Newspaper

AREGBESOLA'S 1-Year AS MINISTER

Image
It takes a person with a genuinely progressive frame of mind to understand somebody with a progressive mindset like our Vice Chancellor at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu University of Politics (BATUP), Lagos, H.E Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola.    This reality, being at my disposal, was what caused me not to be bothered when the news headline of "I don't know anything about the Interior ministry" was credited to the brand new Minister of Interior,  Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola last year, immediately after ministerial inauguration. The comment was reported by virtually, all the Nigeria's news feeders. I knew quite well that somebody like Aregbesola who received his tutelage directly under Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu would never go and fumble anywhere , either he is  familiar or not familiar with the task before him, in as much the matter is about public administration.  So, rather than getting myself engaged in an unnecessary argument which trailed the news, I chose to find out the psy

Tribute to the political juggernaut of Epe Division, By Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

Image
The past few months could have been quite traumatic to all of us. There is practically no one who has not had to wail and mourn the passage of a loved one, an acquaintance, associate or someone that one considered very important. I have had to write tributes to mourn and celebrate some people very dear to me and are simply unforgettable and irreplaceable. But I take solace in the words of Rossiter W. Jordan who wrote that “Life is eternal; and love is immortal; and death is only a horizon; and a horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight”. We mourn the departure of our loved ones because of the limit of our sight since they never really left us.  It is therefore with extreme reluctance and a heavy heart but submission to the will of God that I write to pay tribute to the  Balogun-General of Epe Division, a leader of our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and generalissimo of politics in Epe Division of Lagos State, Chief Kamorudeen Lanre Mabinuori Razak aka KLM, who passed
